Amazon A+ Content image sizes and what to put in each
Standard A+ modules need images of at least 970 x 600 pixels for the header, 970 x 300 for a full-width banner with text over it, 300 x 300 for most image-and-text modules, and 150 x 300 for each product in a comparison chart. Basic A+ allows 5 modules and Premium A+ allows 7. Brand Story images are 362 x 453. Build larger than the minimums, and keep every product detail true.
Minimum image sizes for standard A+ modules
| Module | Minimum image size (px) | What to put in it |
|---|---|---|
| Standard header image with text | 970 x 600 | Your hero: the product in use, in its setting |
| Standard image and text overlay | 970 x 300 | A wide banner with calm space on one side for the text box |
| Standard company logo | 600 x 180 | Your logo on a plain background |
| Standard single image and sidebar | 300 x 400 main, 300 x 175 sidebar | A tall product shot plus one small detail |
| Standard three images and text | 300 x 300 each | Three features, one per image, shot the same way |
| Standard four images and text | 220 x 200 each | Four uses or features in a row |
| Standard four image and text quadrant | 135 x 135 each | Four close details with short captions |
| Standard multiple images with text | 300 x 300 | A set of views shown one at a time |
| Standard single side image | 300 x 300 | One feature with a paragraph beside it |
| Standard single image and highlights | 300 x 300 | The product with a list of key points |
| Standard single image and specs detail | 300 x 300 | The product with a spec list |
| Standard comparison chart | 150 x 300 per product | Your own products, photographed at the same angle and scale |
These are minimums. Build at about twice the size and export at the module’s exact aspect ratio, so nothing gets cropped. Amazon’s A+ help for books, for example, recommends 1940 x 600 for the 970 x 300 banner. Amazon does not list Premium module sizes on its public pages, so take them from A+ Content Manager when you build.
The content rules that catch images
Amazon keeps the full A+ rules for sellers inside Seller Central, behind a sign-in. The version it publishes openly, for books sold through Kindle Direct Publishing, includes these rules. Check the seller version before you design.
- No prices, discounts or promotional words such as "affordable," "bonus," "free," "buy now" or "add to cart"
- No customer reviews, and no more than four quotes or endorsements, from well-known publications or public figures
- No time-sensitive words such as "new," "latest" or "on sale now," and no holiday references
- No blurry or low-quality images, no watermarks, and no small text that cannot be read on a phone
- No web links and no off-Amazon contact details
- No references to competitors; comparison charts include only your own products
- No claims to cure, mitigate, treat or prevent disease, and proof for other product claims
- No guarantee information or off-Amazon return and refund policies
Design for a phone screen
Amazon rejects small text that cannot be read on mobile devices, so judge every image at phone width. Before you upload, view each one at the size of a phone screen and read every word.
- Put headlines and body copy in the module’s text fields, and keep text inside images to a word or two per callout.
- Leave a margin around the product, so nothing important sits at the edge of the crop.
- Use the same light, angle and background across the three- and four-image modules, so they read as one set.
- Set any words that do go in an image in a design tool; see how to get text right in AI images.
Where AI images fit in A+
| Module | AI works for | Keep real |
|---|---|---|
| Header and overlay banners | Lifestyle scenes built around your real product | The product itself; composite it if the label shows |
| Feature modules | Settings, props and backgrounds | The feature being shown, such as a zip, a texture or a pour |
| Comparison chart | Nothing | Real, matching photos of each product |
| Brand Story | Backgrounds and mood | Anything presented as your team, your factory or your customers |
| Ingredient or material close-ups | Only when the render matches the real material | Anything a shopper uses to judge quality |
A+ Content Manager has AI generation built in. Modules with an "AI Ready" badge let you pick text and image fields and select "Generate content." On main product images, an Amazon moderator told a seller in 2026 that the image policy "doesn’t explicitly address 3D renders or AI-generated images," and advised a real photo for the main image, with renders in secondary slots. However an image was made, it has to show the product the buyer receives; see whether you can use AI images on Amazon.
A five-module A+ plan you can copy
1. Standard header image with text. Minimum 970 x 600; build 1940 x 1200. The product in use, in its setting. Headline in the text field: the main benefit, under eight words. 2. Standard three images and text. Minimum 300 x 300 each; build 600 x 600. Three features, one per image, same light and angle. 3. Standard image and text overlay. Minimum 970 x 300; build 1940 x 600. A wide scene with calm space on one side for the text box. 4. Standard single image and highlights. Minimum 300 x 300; build 600 x 600. The product with five short highlights. 5. Standard comparison chart. Minimum 150 x 300 per product; build 300 x 600. Your own range, photographed the same way.
Put one scale image in module 2 or 4, with a hand, a person or a dimension graphic. See how to show product size in photos.
Questions people also ask
- Can I use AI-generated images in A+ Content?
- Amazon’s public A+ pages do not ban them, and Amazon offers its own AI generation inside A+ Content Manager. The rules on accuracy, claims and image quality apply however an image was made, so the product in every AI image has to match the product you ship.
- What file type and size should A+ images be?
- Amazon’s public A+ help for books asks for JPG or PNG files of up to 3 MB. Check the upload box in A+ Content Manager for your marketplace. For formats and compression in general, see the best file format and size for product images.
- Can I compare my product with a competitor in A+?
- No. Amazon’s published A+ rules ban references to competitors, and comparison charts may include only your own products.
Where Overs fits
Overs plans a set around what it is for, such as store page, feed ads, banner or hero, and exports the files; it does not publish to Amazon. Crop the exports to the module sizes above and set your copy in A+ Content Manager.
Free for 40 photos a month. The AI that makes the photos is billed separately, on your own key, with no markup from Overs.
